WELCOME

THE ART CLUB FOR ARTISTS EVERYWHERE

WHAT ARE WE?
We are group of artists with diverse backgrounds and experience.  Some of our members are professional artists, other partly professional and many others of us do our art just for their enjoyment and fulfilment.  We get together to exchange ideas and experiences through a wide range of activities.

WHAT AREA DO WE COVER?
Our name is “Clifton” Arts Club and it was here that the club was originally formed.  Today our membership come from all over what loosely might be called greater Bristol.  The majority of our 240 members live in the city itself but others are from further out of the centre even as far afield as Portishead and Thornbury.

IF I’M OUTSIDE GREATER BRISTOL WHAT DO YOU OFFER?
We have a few out of town members.  To serve them, as well as everyone else, we are continuing with a mixture of face to face meetings but also via Zoom.  Our weekly arts challenges are handled online.  There is the big summer open exhibition and there are a number of smaller members exhibitions.  If you can get your work to us then we can exhibit it.

IF I JOIN, IS THERE ANY TEACHING AVAILABLE?
Most months we hold workshops.  Unlike our other events there is a charge to cover the costs of the more personal attention you get from our tutors.  We also organise lectures and demonstrations, mostly by professional artists in the region.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE

VISIT WEEKLY CHALLENGE GALLERY
Weekly challenge
We are having a break from the weekly challenge - back in September.
Our Weekly Challenge has been a fantastic way of keeping our members in touch with each other and reaching out to our community. We're post weekly challenges to inspire all to create work on a particular subject. Members are then invited to email their artistic response to us and all submissions are displayed in our Weekly Challenge gallery. There have been well over 75 weekly challenges so far. Please take time to visit and enjoy the Weekly Challenge gallery as there is a lot of fantastic work which is both inspiring and uplifting. The quality of the submissions is very high and everyone can feel very proud of their achievements.
